Eric Natti
It’s with great sadness we mark the sudden passing of Eric Olavi Natti, 49, of Atikokan.
Eric was born in Atikokan May 5, 1962, and spent his early years at Mando bush camp #10 near the shores of Eye Lake. At the age of five the family moved to Atikokan, where he attended high school, graduating from Atikokan High School in 1980.
During his high school years Eric worked for Canoe Canada and began his lifelong career as a trapper. After graduation Eric started working in logging for Domtar and Great Lakes Forest Products and later as an independent operator/owner. More recently, Eric worked for Osisko and privately, as a prospector and birch bark canoe builder.
Eric was an avid outdoorsman; in addition to trapping, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time at the Atikokan Motocross track, where he raced as well as volunteered. He will be missed by all those who knew him.
Eric was predeceased by his mother, Kettu Natti. He is survived by his father Pekka Natti of Atikokan, his brothers Asko (Arlene), Kari (Rosie) of Atikokan and Tony Natti of Thunder Bay; and his Uncle Pentti (Aino) of Thunder Bay.
Cremation and private family service to follow. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to the charity of your choice.
